  1. 1: Self awareness, you can’t effectively lead (other than in the autocrat sense) with huge blind spots. Self awareness brings personal insight, which facilitates the skills development of how to bring the best out of others. So, simply, without it, it will be hard to get other traits of a good leader.

2:I have ten qualities a leader should have.

2a: Commitment. Commitment makes a great
leader, they must commit to a good goal that will help everyone, and fulfill it.

2b: Efficiency. An defficient leader is a bad leader, efficiency in everything a leader does, whether if its managing its role, taking care of others or simply managing housework, an efficient leader is a great leader.

2c: Enthusiasm. A leader must be enthusiastic to lead other people to his cause, increasing efficiency.

2d: Common Sense. A leader should know what is out of line, bad ideas, things that negatively affect what they manage.
2e: Honesty. Lets be honest, honesty would be one of the number one traits of a leader. If let's say, the president outright lies about the situation of the economy or the war, and people find out, lets say the media and public won't abide pleasantly. (Pun intended i "Lets be honest")

2f: Reliability. A leader has to be reliable, not the opposite, if he was liable, then he might place a permanent scar on what he manages, if its a country, it could go from a first world to a third world country because he didn't pay off debts and was corrupt and kept the money for himself.

2g: Patience. Don't underestimate the importance of patience. Impatience can lead you to do irrational things to speed up a process which takes time.

2h: Decisiveness. A decisive leader is a must. A good leader can, in the case of emergencies, react to it decisively, meaning quick and effective.

2i: Pro-activity. A pro-active leader will be one who prepares for things, even though its not a 100% certain they will happen, preparation is simple, yet effective.

    2j: Courage.
This could be the most important of the list, since it encompasses so much. As a leader, you must have courage in order to be decisive. You can’t be afraid of failure, or else you will not be able to function as a leader. Have the courage to stick to your convictions or go with a gut instinct. Don’t be afraid to try a new approach.

  2. ANSWERS-PART ONE
    WHAT IS TRUST?

Trust is the reliance on another person. From my perspective, trust is both an emotional and logical act. When you trust a person, you tell them secrets. When you tell a person a secret, you expose your vulnerability to people, believing they will not take advantage of your openness towards that particular person. It is also a human’s nature to rely on somebody in their lives. It also gives you an opportunity to test a person’s trustworthiness and to exchange information. Trusting is all about gain and loss.

HOW DO YOU GAIN A PERSON’S TRUST?

Trust is a very important factor in a relationship. It takes a long time to build it and a second to break the trust between two people. Speaking from my personal experience, there are three important steps to build trust between on and another: do you what are told, never lie, and sharing information and your perspective of things. Everyone is entitled to their privacy. The key to being trustworthy while maintaining your privacy is to show the person your understanding and give them a sense of security.

WHAT IS RESPECT? AND HOW DO WE GAIN A PERSON’S TRUST?

Respect is a feeling of appreciation and deferential regard for a certain person. It is often a display of affection and liking towards a person. Respect is an important way of being kind and nice to other people, not treating them badly.

Respect is a two-way process. If you want others to respect you, you have to show respect to them first by treating them as a friend, help them when needed, be honest with them, and are open to criticism. (Extra Tip: offering food is also a way to gain and show respect)

In every field of work, the most highly regarded people are those who are good at what they do. It doesn’t matter if you don’t exceed at the top of your class, or anything really, if you are hard-working and takes things seriously and responsibly, people will respect you for your work ethic.

  3. ANSWERS-PART 2

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF TRUST AND RESPECT IN A RELATIONSHIP

As I have mentioned in part one, trust is a very important factor in a relationship. Trusting a person is simply a way of showing respect for one another. Trust and respect brings two people closer in their relationships. Respecting a person is usually the first step to building a foundation of friendship. Nobody wants to be friends with a rude arrogant person. A relationship without trust and relationship is like pasta without sauce. It’s bland and has no excitement or flavour, it leaves an emptiness in your life. Humans have a natural disposition to trust and to judge trustworthiness; it is a very popular approach to make friends. As “Aragorn, son of Arathorn II Chieftain of the Dúnedain, Heir of Isildur, King of all the Dúnedain, King of the West, Lord of the Dúnedain, Envinyatar, King of Gondor, King of Arnor, High King of Gondor and Arnor” mentioned numerous times in class, people need communication and a social life. A person without friends will eventually lead to self-depression and suicide (it is a possibility).

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A LEADER? WHAT QUALITIES WHOULD A GREAT LEADER HAVE?

Everyone can be a leader, it only takes courage for you to step and guide people through their problems. But there is no guarantee that they will be a good one. A good leader is resilient and decisive. They must handle things quickly, calmly and effectively. A good leader should also have good people skills, meaning they build relationships of trust, respect, and productive interaction. People skill is basically the ability to communicate effectively with people in a friendly way. Having people skills means you already earned their respect and reliance, which makes it a whole lot easier to lead and encourage others.
To be a great leader one must have a vast knowledge. The leader is whom people rely when they are in need. As a leader, they must provide a solution or guidance to their problem, and it cannot be done without their knowledge or common sense. “Aragorn, son of Arathorn II Chieftain of the Dúnedain, Heir of Isildur, King of all the Dúnedain, King of the West, Lord of the Dúnedain, Envinyatar, King of Gondor, King of Arnor, High King of Gondor and Arnor” has written other qualities of a good leader , so I won’t get too repetitive to what he has said.

  5. Question- What does it take to be a Leader?
Answer= To be a leader you need to have responsibility and know what you're doing. You have to gain the trust of others for other people to be able to respect you and be able to listen. You also need to have a lot of strength and hopefully a good influence so then other people can look up to you. You have to be able to motivate others and be positive to push others along the way so they have the best results.
Question-What quality should a great leader have?
Answer= A leader should be someone who is willing to listen to the problems of others and try to help them. It should be someone who can be able to encourage others to move on and be able to give good criticism to others without hurting their feelings and making them unhappy.
    Question- What is trust?
Answer= It is to believe in something with interest and hope that the person you trust would keep it safe and support you. When you trust someone you expect him or her to not make a fool out of what you did or told him or her.
    Question-What is respect?
Answer=Respect is a deep admiration of someone and believing they can do what they're trying to do. If you're respecting someone in a terrible way think about how it would be like for you to be treated this way. Always treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect is being able to be openhearted while being able to trust and honest with whomever you're talking to.
Question- What is the value of trust and respect in a relationship?
Answer=Trust and respect in a relationship is very important because if someone breaks one of them then its most likely they’ll never be the same again. Trust is really important in a relationship because if someone breaks trust then the other one would be really hurt and damaged. If someone trusts you in a relationship don’t break it. It takes a long time to trust. If you don’t respect someone in a relationship then you shouldn’t even be in a relationship with him or her. They’re both really important things in a relationship because if one of them is broken then the whole relationship is most likely to be broken unless you have really big faith in them.
    Question-How do we build trust?
Answer= You can build trust by giving respect to the other person and showing them that you care about them. You should not lie to the other person and always be willing to help no matter what the circumstance is even though perhaps it’s terrible. When someone tells you something about them because they might be starting to trust you don't break their trust. Keep the secret they told you no matter what happens. If you're hiding something from the person and they realize tell them the truth.
    Question-How do we gain a person's respect?
Answer-If you want respect you have to respect others first. Always try your best at everything you do because they would see that you'd be trying to make it the best for other people rather than just yourself. You can't be rude to others because you're disrespecting them and that makes people not wanting to respect you. You should always be yourself because if you're like someone else it's like respecting the same person and they'd eventually lose respect for you. You'd be too much like others and there's nothing new about you.
    Question-What is responsibility?
Answer= Responsibility is being able to accept what you did even though you were wrong. It’s also about being committed to what you said you would do. Responsibility is also being able to take care of others.

    Question-How do we show responsibility?

Answer= You can show responsibility by respecting people and doing what you’re supposed to do rather than to do other stuff. You can also show responsibility by being trustful and be able to accept your mistakes rather then it letting you down. You can be supportive and love other people no matter what because that proves you have the responsibility of caring for others.

  6. Anyone and everyone be and leader, just like an ordinary man becoming a decorated military leader (Napoleon Bonaparte and Dwight D. Eisenhower) but there is guarantee he/she is a good one. There is no guarantee. A excellent leader is one that can make good decisions quickly and can interact with people. Leaders must handle things quickly and effectively. They must also have skills that can help with relationships. One must also have a vast knowledge and common sense to solve problems and, what's the use of a leader without common sense????!!!!!

  7. Definition of a leader:

About.com - “A leader is a person who has a vision, a drive and a commitment to achieve that vision, and the skills to make it happen.”

Dictionary - “The person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country.”

Both entries are presented to try to define a leader. Suggestive words from Mrs. Pogue's blog like respect, trust, responsibility were mentioned as qualities of a leader. However, the definitions and suggested qualities are just dry empty words until actually practiced. Leaders cover all spectrums, ranging from family, politics, religion, military, education, corporate, tyrants, thieves, to sports and so on. Some examples of leaders (real and fictional) include: Jesus Christ, Buddha, Allah, Obama, Stephen Harper, Christy Clark, Hitler, Bowser (King of the Koopas), Old Major and the pigs of Manor Farm, Mrs. Pogue (Leader of Division 1), even Justin Bieber, and you get the idea. Anybody could become a leader, but that doesn't necessarily mean that person will truly represent his followers. So what traits make up a reliable and trustworthy leader? The moment leadership/follower relationship is created is when there is acceptance and consent from both leader and followers with a belief that they all will benefit under his directorship. However, in many cases, there was no consent and leadership was seized through deception-propaganda, oppression, violence-genocide, and other unscrupulous means, resulting in a dictatorship-totalitarian-master-slave relationship. In a leadership, the leader must also be honourable to himself and his followers, have the ability to make decisions benefiting his/her organization, and remain personally (non-favouritism) neutral in conflicts between party members. However, these qualities alone do not effectively define a true leader. Abraham Lincoln once said, “Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” The characteristics mentioned are only part of a leader's shadow/reputation; what really matters is the true character/nature of the person. The nature of a leader is a person who has courage, being an inspiring individual, having a willingness to take responsibility to represent his supporters' interests while having an open mind for solving issues. A leader must be strong enough to uphold the greater good of his fellows before his own interest. These aspects are important because a leader who is afraid to take a challenge will never even try to accomplish anything; an uninspiring leader is one who does not possess the capacity to create or catch a vision; and having a closed mind is being unwilling to consider new perspectives. Unfortunately, although a leader could have all these qualities, he/she may not always lead an honourable cause for the beneficiaries. For example, the character Napoleon from the novel, “Animal Farm” was an effective leader, but his methods of keeping and using his power were solely for his own personal gain and profit. He abused his power that was supposed to be used for the governance and bettering the lives of his fellow animals. Throughout history, it has been shown clearly that power corrupts and no single individual can harness this power called leadership. Frodo from the Shire (Lord of the Rings) would make the closest image of a trustworthy leader.

To conclude, even though a true leader may possess many qualities known in leadership, their cause to lead may not be righteous. A true leader must be accountable to his followers and his own actions and be prepared to face consequences. Leadership must be a shared responsibility amongst the people to avoid corruption. We all need to keep defining what leadership means and to be more responsible in leading/empowering ourselves.

  8. I leave you this quote that I find fitting for this topic.

    Tao Te Ching Chapter 17

The highest rulers, people do not know they have them
The next level, people love them and praise them
The next level, people fear them
The next level, people despise them
If the rulers' trust is insufficient
    Have no trust in them
    Proceeding calmly, valuing their words
    Task accomplished, matter settled
The people all say, "We did it naturally"

  10. 1) To be a good leader, you need people to respect you in order for them to acknowledge to you and listen(to your opinions). People give respect when they think that you are worthy, likable, and is ready to lead the people. The leader also has to be confident in his abilities and the abilities others.

    2) Qualities that make up a good leader are confidence in others and himself, likable personality, and is ready to lead others.

3)Trust is when you believe in the other person. You believe that he or she is capable enough to live up to your expectations.

4)Respect is when someone looks up to another person. It is when someone wants to be able to have the qualities and look up to that person as a role model. Or it's when someone has achieved to a certain point to earn someone else's acknowledgement.

5)Trust and respect plays a humongous part in relationships. Without both, a relationship is bound to have more problems. Trusting the other person allows the person to feel that they are close to you and therefore they think of themselves as someone important to you. Respect is needed in a relationship so the people feel that the other person is respecting you. To show respect is like showing that you care enough about the other person to show that you will treat them the way you want to be treated.

6)You can build trust by respecting one another. Trust can be given to a person until they do something to make them not deserve it or you can trust someone once they've earned it. You can build trust through your actions, like when someone expects you not to do something that they don't like, that affects them, you need to respect what she says and do as she says. Of course if her judgement of what is best for the situation is bad, then you need to ditch the trust and do what is right.

7)You gain a person's respect by giving them respect. Treat that person the way you want to be treated. Another way to gain respect is to do something honorable. Like everybody respects Terry Fox for running for cancer people and raising money, even though he has only one leg.

8)Responsibility is when someone has the duty of doing something. "It is your responsibility as a parent to take care of your child until he/she is 18 years old."

9)You show responsibility by doing what you are supposed to do at the right time and place. "It's your responsibility as a student to arrive at school on time with all your needed supplies and your homework done."

Tomato...This is what I think of, of these roles and stuff.

That has a responsibility to take care of the class.

What qualities should a GREAT leader have?
A great leader first should have an exemplar of his self that he don’t talk in class, help the little kids, help the people that need help with their homework.

    What is trust?
Trust is a person that you can say secrets, that you can believe or trust on.
    What is respect?
Respect is like someone tells you their secret that you won’t said to anyone else or when someone is talking you can’t interrupt them.
What is the VALUE of trust and respect in a relationship?
I think trust and respect in relationship is very important because if people don’t have trust, like people’s secrets spread out it not nice. Respect a person is the main point to be a friend, if you don’t respect others people won’t respect you.

    How do we build trust?
We built trust by not telling lies to friends.
How do we gain a person's respect?
    By respecting others.
    What is responsibility?
Responsibility is taking care of something

    How do we show responsibility?

What does it take to be a leader?:

well a leader should have courage to stand up to the obstacle in their way. I would guess they should be trustworthy so that any "members" can trust each other but well I guess I should also add in a "people person". Well what I mean by "people person" is like you need to be the one that is always the outgoing one. Oh and also you need to be independent you should always be able to handle situation when others can't help.

How do we gain a person respect?:

To earn someone's respect you need to respect them first it not just award given to you it's something that you have to earn yourself. Remember kids respect is earned not given! (oh and by the way Celery way works too)

    What is trust?:

Well trust is when someone feel like your reliable person and can tell secret to without having to feel scared of anyone knowing but

    What is Respect?:

Respect is well when someone is appreciated and given a certain intrest to a person. Not only that trust is when you are compelled to be kind to that specific person.

    what is responsibility?:

responsibility is when you are given a duty to do and to act like your behavior.

    How do we show responsibility?:

Well you have to do what you are told and behave well and listen to your elders and Well behave your own age.

  13. 3:Trust is believing in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.
4:Respect is having high regard for another individual.
5:Trust and Respect have large roles in a relationship. Mutual trust and respect rely heavily on how long you have been acquaintances or friends with someone, thus, the value is special. Time and care will gain mutual trust and respect, but breaking it could make you lose influence with that friend or even a friendship.
6:I have a small list of things.
6a:Do what you say, and don't do what you said not to do. Don't be a hypocrite, nobody likes that.
6b:Use common sense, if something a friend owns looks like something he cares about, don't touch.
6c:If you want them to trust you, trust them, they may be trying to do the same.
7:I have a small list again.
7a:Open up to any critique someone may have, don't argue with someone over the tiniest little detail.
7b:Have manners, don't go screaming and yelling everywhere. I am not adding anything kitchen or food related because in some countries like Japan, slurping your soup means you're enjoying it.
7c:Be a role model, make someone look up to you and help him help others. This is a chain reaction, if one follows someone, he may tell two people about it, who tell two people each, a chain reaction.
8:Being openly liable to blame and being able to openly carry burdens.
9:You may show you're responsible in everyday life, like being responsible for what you eat. If you are given something to do by someone with morally unquestionable thoughts and authority, you must do it unless there is some sort of morally questionable problem within it. If you see someone steal a loaf of bread, do you stand there and watch, or do you call 911? These show responsibility, and doing something along the lines of this is simple and effective.

  14. What does it take to be a leader/ what qualities should a great leader have?
Well I think to be a good leader you have to understand what has to be done and the best way to do it. You have to understand what the people need. Where you have to be strict and when u can just relax.
What is trust/ how do we build trust?
Trust is something that feeling that we have when we need to share something that’s on our mind with someone that will not tell others. That is trust because if they didn’t trust them they would not tell them. In the butterfly if the little Jewish girl didn’t trust the lady to get her to safety she would not go with her. We gain trust by doing stuff like our trust activity, if the people didn’t trust there partner they wouldn’t put on their blind folds.
How do we gain a persons respect/ what is respect?
Too gain respect one must show respect. Respect is what you give someone when you show that you care about other people ideas or thoughts.

What is responsibility/ how do we show responsibility?
Responsibility is what you do at your house when you clean your room or when you do your chores that`s your responsibility.

what is the value of trust and respect in a relationship.
if you trust someone in a relationship you can tell them anything which is important if you respect them you won`t do anything to hurt them. so in my point of view if you have trust and respect in a relationship you have a health relationship.
